Volume lashing is a technique used to achieve a fuller, fluffier look. Typically this fan making method is all done by hand and is very tedious. With FlashCure™, eyelash extensions are even more securely attached and fully cured by the end of the application. Flash cured lashes are not as susceptible to water, wind, sweat, humidity, heat or friction. Clients can now leave the studio and immediately enjoy hot yoga, jog in the heat, go to the beach, sit in the sauna, and jump in the shower without fear of lash extension loss.

This is not technically new technology, this light curing process has been used for over 10 years. Xtreme Lash™ however, has recently perfected this technique making it completely safe for technician and client alike. Each product, tool, and technique for the FlashCure™ UV Lash Extension System was meticulously crafted and tested by Jo Mousselli (former ICU Nurse) to offer you the safest, most effective lash application experience. You will be happy to know it is also ideal for all application types, from Classic & Hybrid™, to advanced Volume applications.

Flash cure involves the combination of using a very gentle and low intensity UV LED light in combination with a specialized cyanoacrylate adhesive that contains a photoinitiator. When the UV light is directed at the adhesive, the photoinitiator within the adhesive act as a catalyst to initiate the curing process of the adhesive – taking it from liquid to solid within seconds for a securely attached and durable extension that will last until the natural last sheds. In addition to accelerating the curing process, adhesive fumes are quickly eliminated. In summary this process accelerates the curing process, reduces fumes, and enhances lash retention.

Is Flash Cure Safe?

As an RN and Former ICU nurse, safety is a core value of Jo Mousselli's, CEO at Xtreme Lashes. Under her direction, a team of engineers, chemists, curriculum developers, and professional Lash Stylists designed and developed the Flash Cure™ Light Curing System. Everything was tested to meet high standards for efficacy, safety, and compatibility.

The Flash Cure™ UV light emits ONLY UVA rays, which are the gentlest form of UV rays. Compare that with exposure to the sun, which emits both UVA, UVB and UVC rays.
Xtreme Lashes proprietary patent-pending and customizable UV blocking Silicone Upper and Under Eye Patches reduce your exposure to UV rays during application to miniscule levels.
For example, if a stylist applies 100 extensions or fans per eye for a total of 200 attachments during a lash application, she/he will flash the light a total of 200 times. Since, with each attachment, the stylist will only flash the light for 1/5th of a second on average, your exposure is only 40 seconds of UVA rays – that’s less than a minute! Compare that to the average time you spend in the sun with your eyes open without UV blocking glasses, during which your eyes are subjected to UVA and UVB rays. Additionally, since your eyes remain closed during the application, and we've protected your upper and lower eyelids with UV blocking patent-pending customizable patches, your eyes and eyelids are being protected from UV rays with only your lash line being exposed. The rest of your face and body as well as your hands will NOT get exposed to UV rays during the application.

Will the UV Light Prematurely Age My Skin?

No. As you can see in our images, we are targeting a maximum of a one-inch diameter within the protected orbital eye area. The eye is protected with UV protecting Upper and Under Eye Patches, and only the lash line is exposed for on average 40 seconds during the application. Furthermore, as you can see from our images, the client’s face, neck and body are NOT getting exposed. Even the lash stylist’s hands are not getting exposed to the UV light rays. Furthermore, when the INVISIBLE UV rays from the Flash Cure™ UV Light encounter Xtreme Lashes UV blocking Silicone Upper and Under eye patches, UV rays will NOT penetrate NOR reflect off the patches. Instead, the INVISIBLE UV rays will fluoresce and become visible PURPLE light which will reflect onto nearby surfaces creating a beautiful purple glow.

Is The Retention Really That Good?

With flash cure, lash extensions are securely attached and usually last until the natural last sheds. The lash extension loss you will experience between fills is primarily due to natural lashes shedding due to their lash growth cycle. UV cured lashes are not as susceptible to water, wind, humidity, sweat, heat, rubbing ones eyes or even rubbing against a pillow overnight. With flash cure, your designer lash applications will last for weeks to come. You will likely only need your lashes filled every 3-4 weeks, which is 2-3 times longer than traditional lash extensions.
